"60% of children and young people in Salford live in poverty"

Where does my money go?

100% of your donation goes directly to giving children and young people in Salford an opportunity to develop a hobby, interest, talent or skill.

How can I help?

One of the most important ways you can support The Trust is by simply talking about us and raising awareness to family, friends, colleagues and the wider community.

Listed below are some of the many ways in which businesses and individuals can help.

Business Supporters

There are so many positive reasons to join our business supporters; whether it’s simply to give back, raise your visibility to other corporate organisations and customers in and around Salford or encouraging employee fundraising activities.

By adopting The Salford Foundation Trust as your charity partner you can be confident that we will make the most of any opportunity.

“Property Tectonics is a proud sponsor of The Salford Foundation Trust which provides financial help for young people to develop their talents; creating opportunities and success which may otherwise be lost to us all”.

Prof. Trevor Mole BSc(Hons) FRICS EurBE
Managing Director, Property Tectonics
Trustee, The Salford Foundation Trust

To ensure that the Trust has achieved what it intended and its funders’ investment is being used wisely, we give priority to applications that can demonstrate that family poverty limits their opportunities. This is not means tested but relies upon the family to highlight why they cannot fund the opportunity, e.g. single parent, young carer etc. We also require the applicant to provide two referees who are willing to support the applicant to make the most of their opportunity and help them with their application.

We follow up with our grant recipients and their referees after their opportunity has begun to find out what progress has been made (for example have they achieved a musical grade, improved their performance) this helps us to measure the impact of The Salford Foundation Trust.

If there is a particular cause that your company supports, for example the Arts your donation could be earmarked to support an individual who requires funding for an arts-based opportunity.

Depending on whether the applicant wishes to remain anonymous, there would be scope for your company to sponsor an individual and receive any associated publicity.

Employee Fundraising

Fun runs, dress down days, bake sales, raffles, fashion and fundraising events are just some of the things companies can do to raise money for The Trust.

Getting together with your work colleagues can strengthen employee relationships, enhance employee morale and even build critical skill sets and expertise.

Legacy and In-memory

You can do something amazing by leaving a legacy to The Salford Foundation Trust. A gift in your Will, no matter what the size will make a big difference to children and young people in Salford.

£50.00 can help buy music tuition for three months for a child who might never have held an instrument before.

£250.00 will purchase a whole apprenticeship kit for a care leaver, young parent or

£500.00 covers the cost of one year’s swimming tuition for an elite athlete.

Question. How do I leave a legacy?

Answer. Simply all you need to do is indicate the amount you want to leave to The Salford Foundation Trust in your will and include our address The Salford Foundation Trust, Foundation House, 3 Jo Street, Salford M5 4BD together with our Charity registration number: 1105303.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid allows UK charities to claim back the basic rate tax already paid on donations by the donor. This means if you fund raise through our JustGiving page JustGiving will claim back from the government on your behalf 25p for every £1 donated, boosting the value of your fundraising potentially by a quarter.

For UK charities to claim the donor has to be a UK Income or Capital Gains taxpayer.
